Herrick is a village in Shelby County, Illinois, United States. The population was 524 at the 2000 census.Herrick is located at 39°13′9″N 88°59′3″W / 39.21917°N 88.98417°W / 39.21917; -88.98417.According to the 2010 census, Herrick has a total area of 0.37 square miles, all land.As of the census of 2000, there were 524 people, 197 households, and 136 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,442.8 people per square mile. There were 221 housing units at an average density of 608.5 per square mile. The racial makeup of the village was 99.62% White, 0.19% from other races, and 0.19% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.38% of the population.There were 197 households out of which 36.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.3% were married couples living together, 8.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.5% were non-families. 25.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.
